Fashion's Victim - Part I

We are all guilty of it, I certainly am, of buying that on-trend, quick-to-market piece with a low price too tempting to pass up. Besides the questionable ethics that mass production can instigate, which I'll discuss in part II of this series, our fast fashion consumption is creating a negative environmental impact unlike any other industry in the world and second only to the oil industry.

Slower fashion that is thoughtfully designed with high quality materials, local manufacturing and ethical practices together with conscientious consumerism, is the way to a more sustainable industry. In the end we may spend a bit more but the return on investment is much higher and longer lasting - for our closets, our conscience and Mother Earth.
